Damontez LS bred by Longspring Stud is a double cross to Distelfink and is an outstanding jumper and athelete in his own right. A simply beautiful young stallion, reproducing his type, temperament and quality in his offspring.
Damontez LS is by the accoladed jumper Sam I Am ridden by John Cottle and is full brother to the top Grand Prix show jumper Diomedes LS ridden by Phillip Steiner in NZ and later sold to Australia. Another full brother (Devlin LS) is competing at top level in jumpers in the USA. The dam of Damontez LS, Duchess LS began her career as a broodmare before starting life later in sport, where she has gone from strength to strength as an eventor/show jumper, proving to be bold, brave and talented. Also bred along the same lines as Damontez LS standing at Longspring Stud is Sunset Sam LS by Sam I Am LS out of a full sister to Duchess LS (Delta Dawn LS) whom is a superb jumper and proves this family to be a fertile and prolific family that all jump.
Damontez LS’ grandsire Distelfink was by Diskus out of Doreen by Dueker. Distelfink was performance tested in Germany before been imported to New Zealand where he became one of the countries top sires before his death in 2004, he produced numerous domestic and international performers. Some of these include jumping sensations: Jeep Supermoth, NRM Falcon, Duty Free, Dealer, Diomedes and world class eventers: NRM Denver, GV Braveheart, Danzar…….. Distelfink was not only successful at producing performers but also his broodmare daughters are now highly sort after in NZ by breeders for producing jumping and dressage horses! Distelfink was by Diskus the only stallion by Domspatz to go into the services of the Celle state stud and produced a number of first class show jumpers including Denizen ridden by Tim Grubb, Doreen ridden by Tjark Nagel and World Cup winner in 1987 The Natural ridden by Katherine Burdsall. Domspatz (sire of Diskus) like his son Diskus was an outstanding sire of jumpers also and both sires are highly regarded in mare lines today. As late as 1981, on the official German FN figures of progeny winnings in the sport, Domspatz made it to 8th place in a very illustrious top ten. (1. Gotthard, 2.
